I put a lot of faith in having a great Strategic Plan. I also feel that it does not have to be complicated. You can read my summary about developing a High Impact Strategic Plan by clicking (here…). I conduct a “How To” session on Strategic Planning from time to time, and it is as if Olsen reached into my head and pulled out my thoughts.

I am not so naive to think that the actual preparation of a good SWOT is easy. It is not. It is tough work, that requires great rigor, honesty, constructive criticism, fact-based analysis, and creative, visionary thought. If it turns out to be easy, it is likely to be a poor SWOT.
The Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat (SWOT) analysis is a component of the Strategic Planning process, not a plan in and of itself. But is such a good presentation, I had to share it first.
